what is barre?

Barre classes combine Pilates, Dance and Yoga movements to increase flexibility, balance and strength. This low-impact classes utilize the barre and small props to engage small muscle groups. A great way to build muscle and loose weight. No dance experience is necessary and is appropriate for any age and body type. While classes are low-impact they may be challenging at times you'll leave feeling great. Be sure to ask questions and request a modification if an exercise is too hard. As we like to say - the first class is often the most challenging. You're often asking your body to move in a way it's not used to - so stick with it. After ten classes you'll notice and feel a difference. Barre classes are done standing and on the mat or floor.
